FTOG Rule Book

These Rules apply to all areas, media, and servers used by FTOG.

It is our goal to make playing on FTOG a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone, with a family-friendly atmosphere where all ages fit in.

1. Keep FTOG Family Friendly (in 2018)

Let's be honest -- kids have pretty much seen and heard it all these days. But that doesn't mean we are going to allow profanity or obscenity on FTOG.

For every type of profanity there is a nicer alternative, and we encourage you to use that instead. We understand letting slip an occasional "shit" or "ass" in the heat of the moment, but if the staff believes your profanity is disrupting the harmony of the server, you may be muted without warning.

Use of a more serious “F-word” or other obscenity will instantly grant you a /mute. The obscenities considered “serious” and the amount of time you will be muted is up to the staff member’s discretion.

Even censored or abbreviated foul language is not allowed. Acronyms like "wtf" or "lmfao" are not okay to use because when spelled out they contain banned words.

Do keep in mind the topics of your discussion/gameplay. Adult topics like drugs, alcohol, sexual activities, etc are unsuitable for our server because we are family friendly.

Character skins, character names, in-game signs, or builds must be family friendly as well.

2. Always be respectful to others

No insults, name-calling, or other rude behavior is permitted against other players. Harassment or bullying is not tolerated on FTOG.

Never make public accusations against other players or talk badly about them behind their backs.

Be mindful and tolerant of players of other religions, ethnic backgrounds, political views, etc. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

3. Be a good server player

You play on a server with other people, and your actions do affect them. Do not be selfish and setup huge automations just because you think they are cool or you are just being impatient. Whenever you want to setup more than one of the same type of machine ask yourself first if it is necessary and why?

Just because there are many machines available in a modpack doesn't mean you need to have them all.

Also, turn off your automations and machines when they aren't needed anymore, or better yet, tie an online player detector to complex automations that might cause problems so they only run when you are online.

All excessive builds (a few examples, but not limited to: 10 tall smeltery that is always full with liquid metals; 10 pulverizes in a chain; convoluted cobble compacting setups; mob-farms that are always full with mobs because they don't get killed fast enough; pipes/cables that run long distances; to name a few) will be removed by staff when they start causing high tick without warning.

4. Do not grief/loot/raid other players claims

Although we have installed an incredibly effective plug-in to prevent any of the above activities, we still want to make players aware that they should never break this rule. Destroying unprotected land near a claim will be seen as griefing, as you are trying to ruin that person’s build. Surrounding and trapping a person’s claim with yours is a form of griefing; don’t do it. To put it simply, be conscious of other players’ builds and give them ample space to expand and explore.

5. Do not hack, cheat, or exploit

Do not use any mods, macros or game bugs that give you a significant advantage over other players. This includes (but is not limited to) X-ray vision, cave finder, radar, block glitches, etc. This also includes any hack/cheat/exploit that allows you to move, jump, or fly in a way not intended by the game’s default settings. Even if it's a server-side bug, do not abuse it. Stop and report the issue immediately to a staff member.

Automating actions, including (but not limited to) using auto-clickers, are legal as long as you are not AFK while doing so and the ability does not exceed normal playability. Kill auras, fast-clicking, etc., are NOT normal playability.

6. Do not scam other players

This includes the abuse of mistakes on shop signs, trying to cheat players out of their items, failing to deliver paid-for items, etc.

7. Do not harm other players

No form of PvP is allowed on any server. This includes any indirect methods of harming another player.

8. Do not spam

This includes the use of repetitive punctuation, letters, messages, words, shop adverts, etc.

Please use English in public chat channels. The use of any language other than English in public chat is not allowed because staff members will not be able to ensure you are abiding by all FTOG chat-related rules, and to other players it is seen as spam.

The use of extended characters/fonts is prohibited. These show up as as ???'s in the staff logs and are therefore disallowed, regardless of the character you are trying to make.

9. Do not cause public drama

Intentionally doing anything that is likely to cause public upset, arguments, riots, or any other negative action, for any reason, is not allowed. Anyone participating in public drama via threads, pictures, videos or any of FTOG's features, including (but not limited to) the forums, statuses, and in-game chat, will face consequences as determined by staff.

Publicly stating that you are cheating or breaking the rules as a joke is a form of causing public drama. If you state that you are breaking the rules, you will be punished for the rule you claim to be breaking.

10. Do not advertise or spread word about other servers

It doesn't matter whether it's done in a positive or negative way; we do not allow other server information to be shared on any of FTOG's media.
